The unstoppable ANGIE LE MAR - the first Black woman to perform stand-up comedy in the UK - re-unites the pioneers of new variety and contemporary Black British Comedy as host of THE ORIGINALS. Award-winning comic writer and actor FELIX DEXTER, star of BBC2’s new comedy Bellamy’s People, joins the talented speciality act MILES CRAWFORD, hilarious fast-talking musical duo JEFFERSON & WHITFIELD, superb comic actress FELICITY ETHNIC and the undisputed Griot of Edutainment LEO MUHAMMAD in THE ORIGINALS - an evening of high quality stand-up, musical and speciality comedy.
 
FELIX DEXTER started out on the alternative comedy scene with a stock of comic caricatures which challenged and subverted negative Black stereotypes. His TV credits include The Real McCoy, The Fast Show, Knowing Me Knowing You with Alan Partridge, Have I Got News For You, The Lenny Henry Show and Grumpy Old Men.

MILES CRAWFORD is a television presenter, radio broadcaster, corporate host and popular stand-up comedian. Crawford’s talents received national recognition when he hosted LWT’s legendary 291 Club. As a live performer, Crawford has warmed-up studio audiences on programmes including An Audience With Tom Jones, Friends Like These, 45 Minutes, A Question of Pop, On Line, A Question of Sport, 1000-1, E-Millionaire and Something For The Weekend.
 
JEFFERSON & WHITFIELD combine Reggae style musical parody and sharp observational stand-up. They are credited with writing and composing the first all Black modern family pantomime, Yo Cinders Can You Butterfly? which, played to capacity houses at Hackney Empire, Shepherds Bush Theatre and London Shaw Theatre. Today they regularly tour their full show ‘In Your Face’ and frequently appear on the national comedy circuit like the Comedy Store, Jongluers, Up The Creek and Comedy Cafe.
 
FELICITY ETHNIC burst onto the Black comedy scene in the ‘90s and quickly stamped her mark as a uniquely talented and versatile comic writer and performer. Her often poignantly comic creations regularly appeared during the emergence of Black British farce such as Independent Black Woman, the first such comedy to reflect the experiences of first generation modern Black Britons.
 
LEO MUHAMMAD started his acting career in the early ‘90s at Black Cat Cabaret after which he warmed-up audiences for TV shows such as Fry & Laurie and Red Dwarf. He was instrumental in the creation of the hit BBC show The Real McCoy for which he performed and wrote material.
 
Sharp, funny and stylish, ANGIE LE MAR is one of Britain’s top comediennes. Whether on TV, radio or in her dynamic live shows, Le Mar is a proven hit with her unique brand of quick-fire comedy and acutely observed character sketches. At the Hackney Empire, Le Mar has had outstanding success with productions including The Brothers, Funny Black Women On The Edge, Do You Know Where Your Daughter Is? and Forty. She has also starred in the West End production of The Vagina Monologues.
